What a whirlwind week this has been! I can now check two things off of my "Do before you die" list. First of all, on Monday morning I called into the local rock station, 93X , to try and win two tickets for Game 2 of the MN/Anahiem series. The first six callers who got through were assigned a number, 0-5. They then asked one of the local sports reporters five questions in a game they called "Retard Rock Trivia". Who ever has the number assigned of the number of correct answers won the tickets. Well, I was assigned #3. He missed his first two questions so I thought I didn't stand a chance. Well, he fired off three straight correct answers and I won the tickets!! Needless to say I was extremely excited about going to an NHL playoff game. The tickets were fifth row behind the nets. Nothing compares to going to a playoff game in person. The Excel Energy Arena was crazy! The game didn't turn out very well, 2-0 Anahiem, but still was worth going. Plus, my brother-in-law's family watched the game in New York and said they kept seeing Kristin and I in the crowd!! So that was the first things to check off of my list. The second....
.....I remembered that at the game they said the Stanley Cup was going to be in the Twin Cities throughout the week. I figured I would try and see it. So yesterday I left work a little bit early to go to Sears in Eden Praire. The Cup wasn't going to be there until 4 PM. I got there around 2:00, thinking that I would walk around a little bit before jumping in line. Well, they were already starting to line up so I figured I would jump in line. There were probably ten people in front of me at 2:00. Well, by the time the Cup came, the line was over a thousand people long!! Let me just say, it was worth the two hour wait in line to be able to touch the Stanley Cup and have my picture taken with it. The most prized trophy in sports (sorry Vince Lombardi) is truely amazing. I got a really good picture taken. I'll try to see if I can get somebody with a website to post it for me (cough..cough..brother-in-law).
Well, that was my week in a nutshell. Exciting yet disappointing as well. The Wild are now down 3-0 and look totally beat. Giguerre has shut them out three straight games and now the Wild are starting to wonder if the guy is even human. Hopefully they can win tomorrow to at least give the fans one more home game.

Well, I finally broke down and rented the Matrix on Friday. When I had mentioned at work the other day that I hadn't seen it I got the look that I was a criminal or something. I work with a girl who is a Matrix freak and is almost soiling herself that the sequel comes out this week. Well, while the special effects were great, the movie itself was just WAY too sci-fi for my liking. And this is coming from somebody who is a Star Wars freak! While I'm curious so see how the next one turns out, I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD to see it.
Had a pretty lazy weekend. Weather really didn't cooperate this weekend, so it was a movie and PS2 weekend. Rented Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Still trying to get the hang of the controls but overall pretty fun. My friend Amy and her husband came over for a litte bit. Was nice to get to see them. Still trying to get to know her husband as this was only the second time I've ever seen him. Seems like a pretty good guy. My lovely wife will be out of town this week house-sitting for her parents so the PS2 will probably be cranked up a bit this week. Lally, if you read this, as soon as we get a broadband connection, we will have to have some wars on Madden 2003!
