Had a relaxing holiday weekend. Spent a lot of time by the pool in the sun. We decided not to go anywhere for the weekend since we have been so busy lately. And to tell you the truth, it felt really good to just hang out at home.
Went and saw the "Hulk" on Friday. As far as the graphics go..Excellent!! The CGI character of the Hulk was the best I have ever seen. You really have a hard time realizing during the movie that its not a real character. They said this was the most complex CGI character ever done. The story line could have used a kick in the pants, but all in all I would recommend it, if nothing else for the graphics.
Tonight I realized how much of a class act the Cubs manager Dusty Baker is. Being the manager of the NL All-Star Team, he had to pick the reserves for the NL All-Star team. Now, Sammy Sosa, who is always voted to start in the game, wasn't this year. Sammy was fourth in outfielder votes. So logically, he should have been one of the reserves. But since Sammy has missed alot of time this year and statistically is having a "non-Sammy" type of year, he declined to put Sammy in, thus keeping him out of the game. I've been getting sick of players getting in the game just on their name alone and not derserving to be in. Good for Dusty to step up and do this. And Sammy is alright with it. Even though he is one of the hottest hitters right now, he knows he shouldn't be in and has said he will support his Cubs teammates who made it. Sammy is definately a class act as well.
I am so ready for football to start it's not even funny. I am a HUGE college football fan! I am a pretty big NFL fan too, but like the college game better. This is the time of year where I am really ready for it to start because all there is baseball and Nascar. It's also the time of year where I really miss playing as well. It has been six years since I last put the pads on in college, but I miss it more each and every year. Playing flag football in the fall just doesn't replace the rush of the contact of fighting in the trenches.
