"Back to school...back to school...to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool......"

That's the song Adam Sandler is singing in "Billy Madison" as he is waiting for the bus. Well, I feel like a little kid again. Not wanting the summer to end because I start school in little over three weeks. I'm cramming in alot of activities in the remaining weeks!!

We went up to my parents place this past weekend. Weather was good. Got to spend some time on the pontoon boat. Madison just loved it up there. She was jumping and splashing in the water. She looked pretty depresses as we were leaving! My nephew was there. Man he is growing up fast. He now carries on conversations with you. Amazing the difference between him and our neighbor's little boy. They are both around the same age, but Alex talks up a storm and our neighbor's little boy doesn't say a word.

Today I'm driving down to Waterloo, IA to pick up my cousin Mike. He's turning 16 on Friday and wanted to come up and stay for a little bit so I figured I would go and get him. He's never been to a major league baseball game so we are going to go to a Twins game. Also, on Friday we are going to drive down to Mankato for Vikings Training Camp. They are practicing the KC Chiefs that day. It's always fun to watch them practice each other since they tend to get into at least one brawl!!

Next weekend we have our annual family campout down south. Gotta get ready for the big football match up!!

Anyway.....as promised a couple of posts ago I'll continue my Top Ten lists:

Top Ten Favorite Athletes

10. Chris Weinke-QB Florida State (currently 3rd string on the Carolina Panthers)

A native Minnesotan who just happen to lead my favorite college team to the National Title

9. Derrick Thomas-LB Kansas City Chiefs

The reason I wore #58 in college. Unfortunately died the summer after I got to meet him

8. Ryne Sandberg- 2b Chicago Cubs

Some of my first baseball memories are of watching the Cubbies with my Grandma Anson cheering for Ryno

7. Wayne Gretzky- C Edmonton Oilers, LA Kings, St. Louis Blues, NY Rangers

Simply put, the greatest offensive player to ever play the game of hockey

6. Steve Young- QB San Francisco 49'ers

Continued the tradition of excellence at QB for the Niners

5. Lawrence Taylor- LB New York Giants

Reason I wore #56 in high school. Off the field issues aside, one of the most dominant defensive players the NFL has ever seen.

4. Joe Montana- QB San Francisco 49'ers, Kansas City Chiefs

Four Super Bowls, three Super Bowl MVP's....all with what scouts called a suspect arm!!

3. Larry Bird- F Boston Celtics

Watching him and Magic battle it out year after year is one of my favorite memories from the 80's.

2. Jerry Rice- WR San Francisco 49'ers, Oakland Raiders

Probably one of the top 3 players to ever play the game. Still producing in his 40's!!

1. Mario Lemieux- C Pittsburgh Penguins

Gretzky has the stats, but Mario is the most skilled hockey player to ever play the game. Injuries have hampered his assault on Gretzky's records, but few will argue that Mario is the complete package: skill, grace, and power
