The first two weeks were an illusion........obviously I new school wasn't going to be a walk in the park, but the first two weeks of school seemed entirely WAY to easy. Well, its cranked up now and dial won't come back down until June!! Papers, papers, and more papers. No tests, all papers. Definately a change for me. Tests were what I was good at!
The wonders of Google........for some strange reason I started doing searches on some former teammates of mine from college to see what they were up to. The only ones I found were ones currently teachers. Most are also head football coaches. Seeing some in charge of their own football programs kinda makes a part of me wish I would have continued with Physical Education as my major. To be a head coach in high schools, we have to be teach as well. The football part of it would be a blast, but I still stick behind my change. In today's world, I just don't think I would have been able to deal with a kid who mouthed off to me, at least without their face accidently running into my fist!!!
Went to my cousin Ronnie's wedding over Labor Day weekend. Nice to see the little kid who would annoy the hell out of me turn into such a resectable person. He served 13 months in Iraq and returned last February. Even though I don't agree with the war in Iraq, I'm still proud of Ronnie for serving his country and serving it well. From the various speeches of fellow servicemen, Ronnie was very well respected.
This weekend we are heading up to Duluth for another wedding. My friend Dave ("F-ing Dave") is getting married. All my cronies from up north should be there so it will definately be fun. Plus we are staying at my friend Bryan's. He lives only a mile down the road from where the reception is going to be. With all the stress from school, it will be nice to let loose a little!
Semi's this weekend for the World Cup of Hockey. US vs Finland Canada vs Czech Rebublic. Of course everybody is hoping for a US vs Canada final which would be a rematch of the 96 final which featured the US stunning Canada for the win. I would be kind of torn with US vs Canada this time since Mario is captaining Team Canada. I guess in an ideal world, Mario would score four goals but Canada loses 5-4. One can only hope I guess!
Also.............FSU-Miami tonight.........HUGE.
