Welcome to Pittsburgh Sidney Crosby!
How good does that feel to say? The hockey gods smiled on the Pens and awarded them the #1 draft pick in the 2005 NHL Draft. What's the big deal you say? The lottery was unofficially named "The Sidney Crosby Sweepstakes". This kid is supposed to be the next superstar that the league can latch on to. He's been hyped like no other prospect since none other than...Mario Lemieux. And now he gets to learn from the master himself.
He's been followed ever since he was 12 years old. He has dominated at every level he has played on, even a one year stint at the nationally recognized Shattuck-St. Mary's prep school in Fairbault, MN. Hopefully the Pens can get Evgeni Malkin, the #2 pick in last years draft, over here so the two of them can grow together. I'm hoping they provide the Pens with the 1-2 punch at center they had with Mario and Ron Francis. October 5th....the puck drops on the Sidney Crosby era.
Finishing up my thesis. I should be done with it this week. Glad that is almost done. I've been wanting to devote more time to the basement have had that looming over my head.
Basement is coming along. For never having done it before, I think it's gone pretty well. See what a couple of books can do for you!
Driving to Waterloo tomorrow to pick up my 17-year old cousin Mikey who is coming to stay for the weekend. It's a shorter stay than last year, but it will be fun. Mikey's favorite baseball player is Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox. The Twins just happen to be playing them this weekend so I am bringing him to the game.
Kristin says the baby has been kicking away, but still not enough for me to feel it. I've never felt a baby kick before, although plenty of people I know have tried to get me to feel their bellies when there's were kicking. I've always said I will never feel a baby kick unless it's my own.......I can't wait!!
Camping next weekend.......stay tuned.
